Long before I worked in social media professionally, there was just a kid, a laptop, and a dream to share his love for the Mets.
In 2014, when I was just 14 years old, a friend of mine and I created GENY Mets Report purely for fun. We had no strategy or plan, just a shared love for baseball and the New York Mets. What started as two kids posting about their favorite team quickly turned into something far greater than we ever imagined.
As the account grew, I began designing graphics, sharing highlights, and connecting with Mets fans from all over the world. I learned the ins and outs of social media through trial and error, discovering how to build a brand, engage an audience, and create content that truly resonates.
GENY Mets Report went on to become one of the largest Mets fan pages online, reaching over 66,000 followers and averaging 25 to 40 million impressions each month. Through the platform, I partnered with MLB Shop, FOCO, SeatGeek, FanSided, and many more. Along the way, I built relationships with Mets players, team personnel, and even caught the attention of owner Steve Cohen.
Running GENY Mets taught me everything about community, creativity, and consistency. It gave me real world experience long before I entered the professional side of the social media industry.
In 2024, I officially ended the GENY Mets chapter to pursue my career full time in social media. But it will always remain the foundation of everything I have built since, and the place where my passion for storytelling and content creation truly began.
